Is it really worth the money? I don't know but I do know that performance matters to me, so I'm willing to pay for the best. It seems to work as well or better than any chalk I've ever used.

I really didn't. I thought it was just a ploy - an annoyingly successful marketing campaign from some Colo-rad-bros that backed a generic product that everyone else was making. I didn't think it couldn't be that much better. How could chalk get any better? I was amongst the numerous disbelievers. I was coaxed into trying a friend's for a day in Maple last summer. Quartzite cobbles are hard to hold in the summer heat, especially the small, slopey cobbles in Box Canyon. I then returned to my then tried-and-true: Metolius Super Chalk. I now regard that as one of the biggest mistakes of my life. Every time my hand dipped into my chalk bag without Friction Labs, it was as if a dark, sweaty veil was being pulled over my hands. A veil that perhaps had been there my entire 17 years as a climber. They had seen the light; felt the power of impeccable friction - there was no going back. They say you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone. Luckily, buying Friction Labs is easier than getting an ex-girlfriend back, or whatever 'they' are referring to. I've seen Friction Labs chalk as an invaluable tool in my climbing ever since that fateful day. Do yourself a favor and buy some.

Don't overthink it, just buy it! Your hands will thank you later.

By far the nr.1 chalk. Everything else feels like cheap shit compared to this. Sticks to your hands much longer than the rest. Only problem is once you tried it, you’ll never use anything else.

Dipping your hands into a pool of frictionlabs chalk is a very satisfying experience. Where you expect the feeling or chalk, what you actually get is the feeling of silk. It coats the hands in a thin, uniform coat that reliably does its job and lasts long. Incredible stuff, plain and simple.

If the Sticky Bandits ever get out of prison, they'd be happy to know there's a chalk that'll live up to their standards. All three flavors work great at drying your hands and sticking you to holds, but it really is just personal preference how smooth or chunky you like. Sampling all three, I'd say I like the Dust for refilling chalk balls, and Bam Bam or Gotilla Grip for the gym pot. They are all the same though, just a little more OCDing to get the chunky ones crumbled. A+ rating on the formula. Mainly, the Gold product that's available from BD just leaves my skin in sub-optimal healing conditions. My skin feels normal after use with Friction Labs. They got me.

Definitely recommend the Gorilla Grip chalk feels unlike anything I’ve used before. Sticks on to your hands like magic. And the monthly subscription is definitely worth it.

Hey Guys - the chalk itself is always awesome. Only complaint (very minor) is that the packs I have received in the past (ordering direct) come with next to no air in it and HUGE chunks. Almost a solid block. This was more on the unicorn dust side with a ton of air. So was the one ordered from Backcountry. Maybe a bad batch? Packing issue? Still a good product. Just wish I got the usual standard with the premium we pay for a premium product (as described). Other than that thanks guys!

I am relatively new to the game. I get an amazing discount on a certain chalk brand because of where I work. But I tried the unicorn dust and paired it with the secret stuff and it makes for an amazing combo. I get far less peeling and my hands are way better off because of the combo. Strongly recommend

This is the best chalk I have used yet! I have used the unicorn chalk which is nice but I feel like I blow through a bag everyday. Where the gorilla lasts a lot longer at least a month climbing three days a week.

This is the only chalk I will ever use! It is not only the best chalk money can buy, but also, it keeps your hands so dry that sometimes, I find myself washing my hands 4 times before I don't feel it on my skin anymore. Combine with secret stuff to make your hands like suction cups on the holds.

wanted to try out some new chalk, love it so far. The super chunky hasn't seemed to kick up as much dust out of my bag as other loose chalk and sticks to my fingers very well.

I have tried several brands of chalks over the years and in my opinion nothing compares to bam bam super chunky high performance chalk. The chalk stays on your hands longer and you don't have to reapply every time you want to work on a new problem. I didn't want to believe it but this stuff really does work better, especially for warm weather climbing. I still use basic chalk for board sessions but for outdoor routes this is the new standard. Worth the cost? Depends how bad you want to send your project...

Best chalk on the market!

I got my first Friction Labs Unicorn Dust for my birthday over the summer, and I am officially hooked. It's really soft, and coats my hands with a quick dip. I find that I end up using less chalk overall with Friction Labs products, which is ultimately better for me and better for the routes I climb. I have also tried Secret Stuff, which I really love in the summer when my hands get super sweaty. A little bit goes a long way!

I won’t use anything else.

Bam Bam is super pure and covers my hands very well. I have been especially impressed with how long it lasts on my fingers. It gives me the confidence to push harder especially on the last couple of moves of each climb!

Have you ever climbed in approach shoes or climbing boots? And then you switched to your high performance climbing shoes? Here you go; that's the same difference like using "regular" chalk and then switching to Friction Lab's chalk! It is a best improvement in climbing "equipment" directly influencing climbers performance since "sticky rubber" shoes.

I'm a boulderer and like to bathe my paws in chalk whenever I'm about to get on the wall so I always need chalk all the time. That 5oz bag a month is more than enough and it's only like 12 bucks. Definitely worth it, in comparison to the normal block chalks I used to go through like candy.

without friction labs chalk, i could only campus v2's at my gym. now that i have my own bag of frictionlabs bambam, i can campus v3's!!!

This chalk goes on dry and lasts longer than anything else I've tried. I used to chalk after every climb; with the Unicorn Dust I dip in once every 3-4 routes. I also find that it doesn't suck the moisture out of my skin like other chalks I've used. My climbing partners love it, too, they were dipping into my chalk bag until I forced them to get their own!

I have always been a huge fan of the friction labs chalk. For the past few years I have been using Bam Bam as a boulder but recently found myself moving on to ropes and found it a struggle to crush chalk everytime while on the wall. Unicorn Dust quickly puts on an even later that I don't have to chalk very often with during longer rope climbs. I might start using it in my challenge bucket as well
