I like the fact that it's already broke down fairly fine for you. The last thing I want to do when I'm leading a pitch is to have to grind a chunk of chalk up.

I used to use generic chalk and it really did not cut it. I had to reapply it to my hands constantly. I won this chalk after placing in a competition, so I had zero reason to not try it. I like it a lot more than the generic stuff I was using, and it stays on the hands really well in general. I sweat a lot, and this does a pretty good job of keeping my hands dry.

This chalk is as soft as the softest silk possible and creates friction unmatched by the grittiest sand paper imaginable. The coating is perfect and you'll stop wasting chalk immediately. No need to reapply every two seconds. This is like super glue in chalk form. Just stop worry about other brands and buy this. You will never go back.

I've been a fan of the Friction Labs goodness from the beginning. It sticks to my sometimes (often?) damp hands and doesn't feel grainy and sandy like a lot of other chalks. This is the only chalk I have used since getting a sampler pack. My favorite is Unicorn Dust mixed with a bit of Gorilla Grip. That package of the competitor's chalk is, well, just gathering dust in the bottom of my climbing bin.

So I got some gorilla grip to try it out and it was heaven. The chalk goes on great and I didn't have to be shoving my hand into my chalk bag going up the wall. Then I ran out. Sad day. I bought some cheaper chalk from REI the other day because I am a broke college student but when I went climbing the other day I realized that the chalk I've used before and that I went back to is the worst! It is slippery and just terrible. So friction labs, good work. You've hooked me!

So I received a sample of Friction Labs Unicorn Dust recently. I'm one of those "all chalk is the same" kind of person. Or at least I was. I was shocked after putting it on how well it stayed on my hands. I was used to taking my chalk bag up the wall while bouldering but I was absolutely shocked to top out and notice "Holy cow there's still enough chalk on here for another climb!" I used about a quarter to half the amount of chalk I normally used. Definitely going to start buying the chalk on the regular!

Coated my hands quite nicely, but simply didn't stick. Found myself having to reapply mid climb much more often then with other chalks I've used. I found that this didn't provide the level of grip that I get from my Ecoball. Worth a try I guess, but it's just not for me.

I original tried the Unicorn dust. I thought it was a very generous sample that Friction labs provided. The feel was great! My hands were able to stay dry during multiple lifts. After I washed off the chalk my hands were not excessively dry. I made my first purchase and got the Super Chunky. I really like the large chunks of chalk to rub on specific areas of my hands. I have been very pleased with the performance of the chalk and the variety of textures. Thank you!

This is my 3rd time purchasing Unicorn Dust, and I would do it again in a heart beat. The texture is very fine and coats my hand well. I don't have a problem with the chalk clumping or cracking hands anymore (compared to my old chalk)!

I mean, this is fine chalk, great even and sure, it's better than the $3 block. But, as for paying so much for it ($10 + shipping), I don't see the benefit.

I get the super chunky. Its great for bouldering, its both smooth yet dry. There are chalks that feel like you just have some flour on your hands, super smooth yet does nothing. When I use this chalk I feel like I can send.

In just about 4 years of climbing through college, I've tried Metolius, Black Diamond, and now this. I decided on the Gorilla Grip, by the way, and it was just what I wanted. My hands sweat a lot when I'm climbing or even prepping for a climb and the other chalks I've used sweat through real quick and are next to useless at that point. I definitely paid more for this chalk, even on sale, but it'll last longer and has already shown an increase in performance, since I don't have to chalk up near as often. Great product!

I did not think this was superior to Frank endo. It seemed to not coat my hands well. Is the fine dust different? Frank endo comes in blocks so I figured I would like the chunky but honestly it felt horrible and wore off my hands quickly. Thanks for the refund though!

I mainly use the Bam Bam for strength training and I need something that stays on hands without drying them out. The chalk is fantastic! I can do my powerlifting, sled work, farmers walk with a small amount and it grips well. Also it doesn't blow around like normal chalk especially when I'm under the bar doing decline presses which is a plus. Great product all around.

I'm a big fan of unicorn powder, definitely a step up from my old chalk.

I have tried everything else and nothing even comes close to friction and the gorilla grip. 10 stars!

That sticky

I couldn't tell any difference whatsoever between this and normal chalk. I even used this in conjunction with the "secret stuff" liquid chalk. I found myself chalking up just as often. The price is outrageous considering how little chalk you get. I will not be purchasing either product again unless the price drops dramatically.

When I first started gym climbing and was looking for chalk I saw the Friction Labs stuff, read all the reviews but just didn't think it was worth the premium (never had even tried it). I was using the cheap but we'll rated known climbing brand stuff. I finally bought this after seeing it was on sale and having trouble getting through long problems without my hands sweating through my chalk. Well I can say this stuff is worth every penny. Really stays on there. You almost rechalk without adding more. Just rub your hands and redistributes. It takes a lot less to and so makes up for the price tag. My hands still sweat through but it takes a lot longer. Feels different too when chalking up. It has a silky smootness so you know this stuff really is different. Never buying anything else ever again.

First, let me state I'm a lifter (formerly power, now I train for the Olympic lifts) and that I'm a fan of the "Grippy" chalk (I've never looked at who makes it, I just use it!). So...I'm running low and my supplier is getter harder to find (damn internet killing the stand-alone store fronts!) so I went looking on-line (as seems to be about the only choice these days) and found Friction Labs. I liked the chalk...it kept my hands dry (and that's saying something 'cause I sweat like a "ya know what" in church while lifting and it ground down very, very smooth. It almost felt like baby powder...only, no slippage due to inability to absorb the sweat. If you're wondering if it's worth the price...ask your hand(s) after you tear a callous off due to sweat-slippage. Good chalk is not unlike a good pair of shoes...you get what you pay for!

Unicorns dust sticks to my hand better than any chalk I have ever used. Not only do only use it anyone who tries it has to buy it. This is a definite recommend and a must buy for all climbers.

Really like how the chalk feels on the hands. It sticks longer, and feels super soft. I haven't used it at length yet, but I can see how I would end up using less chalk overall making this a great value.

I have tried both Gorilla Grip and Bam Bam and they are both most excellent, my dudes. They stay on my hands longer than other chalks and actually make my hands white. Some chalk just seems weak and doesn't really coat my hands, preparing me for that sick send. But this is not the case in Friction Labs. In addition, due to the longevity of the product, the cost of restocking on chalk has been cost effective. It is better to buy a quality product once, than a cheap product multiple times. I really love and respect Friction Labs and their chalk. It has really encouraged my growth as a climber. I should change my name to O.T. Genesis because I'm in love with the 'coco'.
